Clinical Mental Health Services
CRT provides mental health services primarily to children and families confronting barriers to accessing mental healthcare. We are one of the only clinics in Illinois specializing in assessment and mental health treatment for youth with complex histories of prenatal and environmental trauma, including sexual and physical abuse, exposure to community and domestic violence, and prenatal substance exposure. CRT has developed a community-based service model designed to reach high-need Chicagoland areas by locating therapy services at sites such as schools, shelters, and vet centers, and other family services organizations. We also operate a family-centered clinic in Chicago’s Loop.

Community and Professional Training
CRT is a leader in training adults who work with youth, in recognizing and helping to address mental health challenges. Training individuals, from school communities and child services to medical and legal professionals, supports prevention of a serious, prolonged impact of early mental health issues by helping to identify mental health challenges and make appropriate treatment referrals.

Our Research Team has been awarded many federally funded grants and projects, which have resulted in proven positive impact on the nation’s children. Our clinical programs are recognized as national models for successful interventions. The team has published numerous professional papers and conducts an extensive intern training program, drawing students from around the country.

Camp SOAR (Special Outdoor Adaptive Recreation)
Camp SOAR is an overnight summer camp for children and youth ages 7-19 with significant developmental disabilities who require intensive supports. Campers are assigned a one-on-one counselor and participate in a week of traditional camping activities. Camp SOAR provides disabled youth the opportunity to build social skills, gain social competence, and increase self-esteem as their parents are afforded a rare respite from full-time care.
