Clinical Internships & Practicum
Training future professionals to approach their work through a trauma-focused lens is an important part of our mission at Children’s Research Triangle. CRT provides a rigorous year of clinical learning designed to prepare students to work within the complex systems serving children, adolescents, and families.
Each year CRT offers four to six clinical practicum or internship positions to both doctoral and master’s level students, from graduate schools in the Chicagoland area. Clinical therapy students generally hold the same job responsibilities as staff clinicians. Students maintain a caseload of approximately 10-12 clients. Therapy services are provided at a variety of locations such as the CRT clinic in the Chicago Loop, as well as multiple partner sites including elementary and high schools, and family support centers.

Master's Internship Program
Program Requirements
CRT is a fast-paced environment and we work within traumatized systems. Students should be ready to participate in reflective supervision and consultation, with willingness to examine the impact of clinical work on the student’s functioning and vice versa.
The practicum and internship training programs require that each student is present, in-person, three days per week: two days of direct service, and Fridays, which are comprised of training, supervision, and paperwork.
Applications
Practicum and internship applications will be accepted beginning in January for the following year. Spanish-speaking applicants are encouraged to apply.
